Full Material Traceability

Material Traceability & 3.1 Mill Certification

We deliver reliable, controlled material documentation for both prototype and production work.

Verified Material Compliance

LGM Engineering operates controlled material traceability procedures to ensure transparency and documentation throughout the manufacturing process. Where required, we can supply 3.1 mill certification to confirm material specification, chemical composition and mechanical properties.

Material traceability is particularly important for projects within sectors such as energy, defence, construction, food and medical applications, where documentation and compliance form part of project requirements. Our processes are designed to maintain identification of material grades from receipt through to manufacture and dispatch.

We source materials from established suppliers and, where certification is requested, retain the corresponding EN 10204 3.1 material certificates for reference. These mill certificates confirm that the supplied material meets the declared standard and specification, providing assurance of origin and conformity.

During production, material grades are recorded and controlled in accordance with order requirements. Where full traceability is required, components can be referenced against specific material batches to support documentation requests.

3.1 certification confirms that material test results are validated by the manufacturer and independently declared as compliant with the relevant standard. This provides confidence in chemical composition and mechanical performance without unnecessary complexity.

Whether supporting structural applications, infrastructure projects or regulated environments, our approach to material traceability is practical and proportionate to project requirements. Documentation can be provided at dispatch where requested, ensuring customers receive both manufactured components and the necessary supporting records.

Our objective is simple: to provide clear, reliable material documentation where required, while maintaining efficient production and dependable delivery.

Material Traceability Process

Once an order is received, the corresponding purchase order is linked to the job within our MRP system. Material is sourced from approved suppliers and, upon arrival, is booked into our system with grade and certification details recorded where required.

This controlled goods-in procedure ensures material can be referenced throughout manufacture. Where projects require documented traceability, components can be linked to specific material batches in accordance with order requirements.

When cutting from stock material, remnants are recorded within our system and stored for controlled future use. Remaining material is identified and logged within our database, allowing efficient nesting while maintaining visibility of material grade and origin where traceability is required.

This structured approach ensures clarity from material receipt through to dispatch, supporting projects where documentation and accountability are essential.

Traceability FAQ’s

Yes, we provide reliable nationwide delivery across the UK for both prototype and production work. We use a combination of pallet network distribution, courier services and local transport to ensure components are delivered securely and on time.

Next-day delivery is available on most UK mainland consignments, particularly when dispatched via pallet network services. Delivery times depend on order size, location and dispatch schedule, and are confirmed at the point of order.

Yes, larger consignments and production batches are typically shipped using established UK pallet network distribution services. This provides stable handling, tracking and efficient next-day delivery for fabricated metal components.

For smaller consignments or urgent parts, we use recognised courier services such as FedEx and other national carriers. This ensures fast, secure delivery of boxed components and prototype items.

For local deliveries within Surrey and surrounding areas, same-day delivery can be arranged where required. We can also organise dedicated courier services for urgent, time-critical projects.

All sheet metal components are packed according to size, finish and destination. Larger items are palletised and securely wrapped, while smaller parts are boxed and protected to minimise movement and prevent damage during transit.

Yes, customers are welcome to arrange collection from our facility in Epsom, Surrey. Collection details can be coordinated once your order is complete and ready for dispatch.
