Laser cut and folded brass components manufactured by LGM Engineering

Working with Brass

Brass is a non-ferrous copper alloy valued for its corrosion resistance, machinability, and decorative appearance. At LGM Engineering, we laser cut and fabricate brass sheet for applications where visual finish, accuracy, and material stability are important. Brass is commonly used for decorative components, panels, signage, trims, and precision parts.

Brass offers good corrosion resistance and a distinctive warm finish, making it suitable for both functional and aesthetic applications. Its predictable behaviour during cutting and forming allows for accurate profiles and clean edges, particularly important for visible components. Brass can be supplied in various alloys depending on strength, finish, and fabrication requirements.

All brass material is processed in-house using fibre laser cutting and CNC press brake forming to achieve accurate profiles and consistent results. Where fabrication is required, brass can be welded or brazed using suitable processes, with care taken to maintain surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

If you are unsure whether brass is suitable for your application, our team can advise on material selection, fabrication methods, and finishing options based on performance and appearance requirements.

Processing Information

1

Laser Cutting

Brass is laser cut using controlled fibre laser parameters to produce clean edges and accurate profiles. The process is suitable for thin sheet and precision components where surface finish and detail are important.

2

Folding & Forming

Brass can be folded on CNC press brakes using appropriate tooling and bend allowances. Controlled forming ensures accurate angles and clean radii, particularly for decorative and visible components.

3

Welding

Brass can be welded or brazed using suitable processes depending on alloy and application. Fabrication is carried out with care to ensure strong joints while maintaining the appearance and integrity of the finished component.
