Mild Steel Laser Cutting & Folding
Mild steel is one of the most widely used materials in sheet metal fabrication due to its strength, versatility, and cost effectiveness. At LGM Engineering, we regularly laser cut and fold a broad range of mild steel grades to suit structural, industrial, and general fabrication requirements. Its predictable behaviour during cutting and forming makes mild steel ideal for brackets, frames, enclosures, welded assemblies, and high-volume production parts where consistency and repeatability are critical.
We work with a variety of common mild steel grades, including S275 and S355, which are typically used for structural and load-bearing applications where strength and durability are required. For formed and pressed components, we also process grades such as DD11 and CR4, which offer excellent cold-forming characteristics and surface consistency. Depending on the application, we can supply material in pickled and oiled condition to improve surface finish and forming performance, or dry where coating, welding, or post-processing requirements dictate.
Material selection is matched to the cutting, folding, and end-use requirements of each project. All mild steel is processed in-house using high-power fibre laser cutting and precision CNC press brakes to ensure clean edges, accurate dimensions, and reliable bend quality. If you are unsure which grade is most suitable for your application, our team can advise on the best option based on strength, formability, finish, and cost considerations.
